Translation coordinator / Bénévolat-Volunteer work

Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Team Lead, the Translation Coordinator is responsible for interpreting written and audio pieces in different languages, making sure to maintain their original meaning, format and tone. Primarily English to Other.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Reads through or listens to material in one language, ascertains understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and converts it into a second language, making sure to preserve the original meaning
• Ensure translated content conveys original meaning, format (e.g., font and structure) and tone
• Prepare subtitles for videos and online presentations
• Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check quality of translation
• Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy
• Follow up with internal team members and external clients to ensure translation meets their needs


• Proven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter or similar role
• Fluency in at least one language other than English
• Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors
• Good knowledge of content editing tools
• Familiarity with translation software
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong time-management and organization skills
